Lecture by Master Vĩ Kiên at the Vĩ Kiên Meditation Center (1986)

The person who accepts to meditate is a person who no longer fears conflicts.

They have become world-weary, so they want to resolve their difficulties on their own.

They see that the Vô-Vi method is a method to release the impure energy and preserve the pure energy.

Through their own efforts, they purify themselves gradually, from their minds to their five internal organs, and the flux of pure energy of their true consciousness will develop simultaneously.

You already practice the Vô-Vi method, which consists of the Concentration of Spiritual Energy, the Cyclical Breathing, and the Meditative Contemplation.

Gradually, as you practice the meditation exercises, where are you returning to?

Why did you suffer previously?

You feel that your difficulties come from the karma of heart. They are karmic debts, karmic retributions, but who is at fault?

We are at fault! We turn to the external world and follow its attractions. We are pulled away at every moment, and become entangled without a way to escape.

Therefore, today, we are no longer interested. We are able to disentangle ourselves partly. We see that we have a way to liberate ourselves.

What does this liberation give us? We were able to restore our inherent equilibrium, in order to save the current situation which entangles us.

In the past, I had no entanglement. When I was born into this world, I have no dependencies. When my soul enters my body, I become a little bit dependent, but I do not have a karma of heart created from the external world.

I was happy, I was carefree, but today, I have lost my capacity of Emptiness, so I become agitated: I worry about my wife, I worry about my children, I worry about society, but eventually, I was not able to care for anyone, and I cannot even care for myself.

So, whom should I care for? These questions assail my mind, and once I cultivate myself spiritually, I see that I am responsible for losing my equilibrium, and I should restore order and discipline to my own self. But how?

When I was born into this world, I possess a pure energy and pure light. Everyone loves me, and cherishes me. Everyone wants to hug me, to carry me, and even strangers love me. It’s because I already possess the light of compassion.

But today, I have lost this light of compassion. I fall into rivalry and intransigence. No one likes me, no one wants to harmonize with me. However, since I practice meditation, I have changed my character and my consciousness gradually. I realize that I am responsible for rebuilding the equilibrium in my inner consciousness.

But what is my inner consciousness? My inner consciousness is reflected by my spiritual energy. I increase my spiritual awareness, I can now understand deeply any matters whether very distant or very close. I am still able to comprehend them. This means that my spiritual energy has become more and more balanced.

Once you have restored your equilibrium, once you return to order and discipline, you see that your head represents the universe. Through your head, your spiritual energy will harmonize with the whole universe, i.e., the purity and lightness of the World Above, and you no longer harbor questions.

You will expand the energy of your inner consciousness and your five internal organs. This is due to the equilibrium you have achieved from the lower, middle, to the upper sphere. When your lower sphere has been purified, what does it mean about the worldly attractions, such as sexual and greedy desires? Today, you see that you have reduced your sexual and greedy desires. Once you have attained equilibrium at the central point of your body, you will see that all the sentient beings in your body will become serene.

I have traversed the Gate of the Demons. In the past, I was rude, I would hit people at the first sentence, I wanted to kill people, but now, I no longer behave in this way. I turn within to see whether I am at fault.

Isn’t it due to my wrongdoings? I see that I have lost my equilibrium. Once I clearly see my wrongdoings, it means that I have achieved success, and I have returned to my own equilibrium. At that time, I practice more love and forgiveness, more constructiveness.

I practice even more steadily the method that helps me to return to One with the whole universe, i.e., the silent invocation of Nam-Mo-A-Di-Da-Phat.

The original principle of Nam-Mo-A-Di-Da-Phat harmonizes with the elements. NAM = Fire, MO = Air, DI = Development, DA = Aura, PHAT = spiritual awareness.

To Return to Oneness means to establish Order.

Once I have achieved ORDER in my organism, once I am able to release my anger and infatuation by re-establishing order, once my inner consciousness is in Order, I will be able to direct my mind toward the World Above. I will see the ORDER of the whole universe, i.e., the order of spiritual energy.

Once you have achieved ORDER, when you close your eyes, you are no longer aware of your surroundings.

When you listen to my lectures, you are no longer attached to the words, you do not remember any word, i.e., you have traveled afar!

To return to order and equilibrium means to return to EMPTINESS!

Only then will you be able to receive the pure energy of The World Above.
