Exercise of Concentration of Spiritual Energy –

Explanations by Master VI-KIEN in San Jose, California (1980)

This dharma method closes the door of the earthly world and opens the door of heaven.

Now, we start the Exercise of Concentration of Spiritual Energy.

This acupoint is also a pressure point to stabilize the nervous system of the head when we are suffering from migraines, and so on

When we apply pressure on these 2 nerves and plug our ears, beginner practitioners will hear windy sounds, which means that their liver is still hot, and they can become angry easily.

When we apply pressure in this manner, when we press here, the energy focuses here, when we press here, the energy focuses here. When we plug our ears, there are many acupoints related to our spleen and our esophagus. All these acupoints help to develop the energy of our head, and bring equilibrium to each of our organs.

Let’s curl our tongue, incisors against incisors. When we curl our tongue, our energy will flow along with the vibratory energy of our head. When we apply pressure on these points, we will increase the vibratory energy behind our head, and we will increase our memory capacity. We will also eliminate our impure thoughts. We have stored these unnecessary thoughts in our head, and consequently weakened our nervous system. Ordinary people have all a weakened nervous system because of their daily activities. When our nervous system has weakened, we can easily enter into arguments with our family. On the other hand, when we practice in this manner, we will fortify our energy vibrations. We will become stronger, more lucid, and we will see our own faults. Therefore, we will easily harmonize with other people.

We should practice this dharma exercise at least 5 minutes for beginners. We curl our tongue, incisors against incisors, and we mentally look straight from here.  We concentrate our energy on the top of our head, right at the center top. From the top of our ear, we measure till this spot – the center top of the head is also called the BÁ HỘI or BÁCH HỘI acupoint. It also conforms to the chakra on the top of the head (called “HA DAO THANH” ). This place stores all the knowledge and memories in our brains. When we do this exercise, we are restoring our equilibrium in order to increase our memory, and we will have a stronger memory in the future. When you start your spiritual cultivation, this exercise will eliminate your current futile memories, and it will store memories which can be useful in the future.

We should practice the concentration of energy and mentally look straight ahead. If we feel agitated, we should continue curling our tongue, incisors against incisors, and mentally invoke NAM MO A DI DA PHAT right at the center top of the head – as I have indicated before. We should invoke NAM MO A DI DA PHAT continually to release our impurities, because we clearly know the original principle of NAM MO A DI DA PHAT. NAM is Fire, MO is Air, A is Water, DI is Spiritual Development, DA is Spiritual Aura, PHAT is Spiritual Consciousness. The vibrations of Nam Mo A Di Da Phat will harmonize with the great universe, and they also follow the original principle of the whole universe. The longer you practice the exercise, the more benefit you will achieve. However, for beginners, their arms will feel tired because of their procrastination and their body has also been weakened. If they do not have enough strength, we should advise them to practice at least for 5 minutes and slowly increase up to 15 minutes. When you have practiced for 15 minutes, you will attain a greater understanding, and you will feel the energy flowing from the top of the head to the spine and the cooling effect. If we persevere in this practice, we will develop our brains. When we develop our brains, it means that we are preparing a meditation center for the thousands of sentient beings in our lower organism, so that they may evolve higher and cultivate themselves spiritually to attain purity, lightness, and lucidity. Consequently, our aura will develop infinitely, in accordance with the awakening of our spiritual consciousness.

This dharma method closes the door of the earthly world and opens the door of heaven. It is no different from the Venerable Shakyamuni Buddha who went to meditate in the forest, where all kinds of fierce animals were surrounding him. Why did he go to the forest? He went there to concentrate his mind and fortify his will. He is constrained by the circumstances, so He must direct His will towards the Heavenly World and liberate his soul with his own efforts. If he fought with the animals, he would be killed by them. Similarly, if we quarrel with everyone in our family, we will certainly encounter mishap one day. Therefore, we must close the door of the earthly world to open the door of heaven. We borrow this method to simultaneously cure our body and elevate our mind spiritually.

We should curl our tongue, incisors against incisors, and do like this at least 5 minutes. You will start to sweat. This method can also help curing illnesses like typhoid fever.

At the beginning, when you practice, both your shoulders will feel very tired. Don’t worry! You should persevere and you will become accustomed within one or two weeks. At first, the buzzing noise will increase more and more daily, but after a while, you will no longer hear the buzzing noise. When you plug your ears like this, but can still clearly listen to the outside sounds, you will be able to avoid senseless quarreling within the family. You will achieve serenity, and your liver will improve, and your diet will also become simpler. When we cultivate the energy on the center top of the head and unblock all the impurities inside the nooks and crannies of our nervous system, our five organs will be able to evolve higher. Thanks to the pure energy from the World Above, we will purify ourselves by cultivating the energy on the top of our head.

Our organism, our body is a micro-cosmos. At the top (our head), if the sky is agitated and raining, all the people below will suffer (lower organism). However, if we take care of ourselves, so that the upper part is peaceful, we will advance within lucidity, purity, and lightness, as if there are only two moderate seasons, Spring and Fall. When our head is lucid, our body will also avoid agitation.
