When speaking aloud, our energy is dispersed

Explanations by Master Vi-Kien about the Spiritual Commitment (San Jose, California, 1980)

 

To start, we sit cross-legged like this.

Why do we sit cross-legged? When we cross our legs, the water energy will rush upward along the spine, and it will bring warmth to the kidneys. This sitting method helps to fortify our kidneys.

While in the sitting position, we curl our tongue, incisors against incisors. Why do we curl our tongue, incisors against incisors? When we curl our tongue a little bit to touch the upper gum, we are regulating our nervous system. When we curl our tongue, we are purifying our kidneys (water element). So, we curl our tongue incisors against incisors, close our eyes, and practice the mental invocation: NAM… MO… A … DI …. DA …. PHAT. We should invoke these vibratory words mentally and not speaking them aloud.  

NAM: let’s remember that NAM represents FIRE

MO: represents AIR

A: represents WATER

These 3 elements should unify.

DI: means Development

DA: means the Aura. At that time, all the pores of the epidermis will emit light.

PHAT: Serenity within.

When all these flows of energy are unified at the central point on the top of the head, we will clearly know that we are now pure and light, and no longer heavy and impure like in the past. Those spiritual adepts who can feel the concentration of energy on the top of their head, will be familiar with this sensation.

For the beginners, when they mentally invoke:
NAM…. The final vibratory sound will concentrate right here (the middle point between the eyebrows)

MO…. The final vibratory sound concentrates at the center top of the head.

A… The final vibratory sound will be felt at the center point between the 2 kidneys

DI.. The final vibratory sound will concentrate here…

DA… The aura will illuminate

PHAT… Serenity comes from within

Why does the last vibratory sound end at the navel? The four oceans will converge and become one – All 4 oceans unite and become one house. Only when we achieve serenity and open up all our meridians, will we be able to understand this.

When we practice the mental invocation of NAM-MO-A-DI-DA-PHAT at the central point on the top of the head, we should understand the principle of NAM-MO-A-DI-DA-PHAT clearly.

Ordinary people who are not spiritually inclined cannot understand this principle. In the past, I also said why the Buddha did not use the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 instead.

Why does the Buddha use NAM-MO-A-DI-DA-PHAT to make people believe blindly? I disagreed with him on that point. However, today, I found why thanks to this Vô-Vi method. The vibratory sound NAM is different from the number One.

Speaking of spiritual energy, NAM…. The final vibratory sound resides right at the middle point between the eyebrows. When we practice the Cyclical Breathing and perfect ourselves spiritually with the Vô-Vi method, we will open this psychic center. For ordinary people, they can hear how the word NAM resonates very long, and it has a final vibration, while the number ONE will only sound short and has no vibration.

Saying One, the breathing is cut short, while NAM… one cannot shorten its vibration. Therefore, the Buddha has used the energy vibrations inside our body in order to develop the 6 psychic centers that already exist in our Microcosm.

Ordinary people cannot understand this point, and we can only make a simple comparison. NAM and ONE are different! MO… there is an energy vibration, HAI (TWO) is different!

We must study carefully before practicing. We must understand clearly this Vô-Vi method. 

Aaaa… There is an energy vibration in the last sound, and we should follow this final resonance.

DI…. Where does the last vibratory resonance reside? When we say: 3 – the number 3 does not resonate. 4 – this number is also staying short, and there is no energy flow.

DI… DA…. PHAT…. PHAT: The vibratory sound flows directly to the navel. When expressing PHAT, the energy will flow to the navel. DA…. When one is light and pure, one will be able to emit an aura.

Do you see it? On the other hand, when we say 5, 6, these words do not resonate, even if we try hard, we cannot move them. There is no energy vibration in the numbers 5, 6.

Therefore, 1,2,3,4,5,6 and NAM-MO-A-DI-DA-PHAT are different. There are many spiritual adepts who want to save time and count instead 1, 2,3,4,5,6,7, 8,9, 10 to 100. This will only cause more agitation.

We have collected many habits and attractions from the external world. So, we must practice NAM-MO-A-DI-DA-PHAT to replace the things that we have collected in our inner consciousness and inner organs.

Therefore, we must replace them with the 6 vibratory words NAM-MO-A-DI-DA-PHAT in order to develop our spiritual energy.

At the beginning of the Vo-Vi practice, we curl our tongue, incisors against incisors, and mentally invoke NAM-MO-A-DI-DA-PHAT 3 times, while concentrating our energy on the top of our head.

Then, we join our hands and mentally invoke:

NAM MO TAY PHUONG CUC LAC THE GIOI QUAN THE AM BO TAT
NAM MO LONG HOA GIAO CHU DI LAC

Please attest to the sincerity of your disciple (give your full name) in studying the spiritual perfection to reach enlightenment.

Repeat one more time:

NAM MO TAY PHUONG CUC LAC THE GIOI QUAN THE AM BO TAT
NAM MO LONG HOA GIAO CHU DI LAC

Please attest to the sincerity of your disciple (give your full name) in this practice to achieve spiritual enlightenment.

We should only invoke mentally. We should not speak aloud, and we should not open our mouth. “When speaking aloud, our energy is dispersed”. We should curl our tongue, incisors against incisors and mentally invoke in that manner.

After making the spiritual commitment with the phrases above, we can add the following prayer if we wish:

“NAM MO A DI DA PHAT – Peace be with all creatures”

This is a good thought to build our virtue and to harmonize with all creatures.

Then, we bow 3 times with our hands, keeping our spine straight.

After the spiritual commitment, we will practice the exercise of Concentration of Spiritual Energy. 

I should explain once more the meaning of these 2 phrases during the Spiritual Commitment:

We should invoke these two phrases mentally while closing our eyes. Why? When we invoke NAM-MO, the psychic center on top of our head opens, the spiritual energy concentrates there, and it will ascend higher to reach extreme purity and lightness. It will bring us lucidity, so that we may see our own mistakes and rectify ourselves. In this world, people see the KWAN YIN Bodhisattva as a goddess, but when we achieve lucidity, we use this lucidity to examine our own darkness and correct ourselves.

NAM MO LONG HOA GIAO CHU – LONG HOA GIAO CHU DI LAC: When we advance toward the ultimate goodness and felicity (DI THIEN TOI LAC), we are truly the spiritual leader of our own microcosm. We bring all the happiness in our inner consciousness and develop them toward infinity. Therefore, when we understand these 2 phrases thoroughly, we would understand these 2 flows of energy, while people who only understand the worldly and literary aspect, will follow the fine example of these Higher Beings in order to evolve further.
